Woke up this morning to a nice dusting of snow.. Fun times. It’s hard to believe its November already but I’m starting to feel like time just go’s faster the older you get.. haha
October was a good month, went fishing with the boys (Only small Pike) but other than that things were pretty uneventful. The yard was cleaned up, waiting for like 5 trees to finish dropping their leaves and then its time to setup the ice rink.
Halloween was great as our neighbourhood did the whole trick or treating thing. Lots of people setup tables on the driveways with the treats. The tables got pillaged by the older kids though before we could get to a lot of them. haha. Our son broke away from us, since we are too slow and did most of the trick or treating with his friends.. They get old sooo fast. Unfortunately he’s starting to become a fan of the peanut butter cups. Arg!
Alright, Let’s Talk Money!

- Added 7 more shares of microsoft boosting those divs by 15.68
- We also added 11 more xaw etf this month.Threw the solar income right at it, This added a couple bucks…
You can read about those moves in this post. October 2020 Stock Purchases/ 1 Sale
With these new purchases our dividend portfolio will now generate over 7k a year. Feels good hitting that milestone!
Financial Goals Update
Charities
Increase Dividends by $1,713.42 this year. (bringing our forward income from dividends to $7,500 a year)
- With New Purchases, Drips and Dividend Raises this month we added $242.14 to our dividend Portfolio. Total increased so far in 2020 is $1,247.22. 72.79% of our goal.
Etf Monthly Purchase of $250
- We added 11 more shares of xaw etf this month for roughly 315 bucks in our questrade account. Questrade* is great because it offers free etf trades and cheaper stock trading options than most Canadian brokers. $250.00 a month would kill us if we needed to pay high trading fees.
- * Note the questrade link is a affiliate link and at no additional cost to you, I would get a little payment if you were to sign up. You could get $50 in free trades by using my link though.
October 2020 Passive Income Conclusion
Gotta love the results this report. Grew that restaurant brands international position large enough to get our first drip, Td broke that 100 dollar dividend mark, (making it the first triple digit payment of these months) and a massive year over year growth rate topped off with that sweet Abbvie raise.
Proof is in the results, stick with the plan and watch it grow. I hope you all had a fantastic month as well.
How was your October? New Records? Make Any Purchases?
cheers!
